3. Food

Food is great, mmmm. For your hangover too. Yes, and it can be combined with vitamin drinks too of course, if you're hungry. Having toast and bananas, fruit for the fructose or even simple pasta can settle your stomach. No milk or cream, unless you want to run to the toilet and blow out your pizza all over the bathrooom of course!



Go slowly to start with on starch foods. Many people swear a bacon sandwich puts them back on track; it was even studied in the UK and considered officially beneficial to hangover recovery, leading people to believe fatty foods help.

Eggs are also helpful as they contain cysteine, which cleans up toxins from your liver. Soup is yet another good one if it contains salts and minerals you lost during the night, and rehydrates you. Wise old men may tell you to put Marmite or Vegemite on your toast as it contains vitamin B12, which is depleted when you are out on a bender. Wise old ladies will tell you to put honey on your toast or in your tea as honey contains the beneficial fructose.

4. Sweat it out

When you wake up soaked in alcohol feeling like a chihwawa slept in your mouth and someone sneaked into your bedromm and put tipp-ex on your teeth, if you can manage it, go to gym and jump on the exercise bike or step machine and sweat as much as possible. Do at least 30 minutes hard.



Have a shower afterwards and you’ll feel like a new man or new girl, depending if you're a man or a girl. If you can’t go to a gym because your hangover is too evil, go for a run or a bike ride. Even a brisk stroll in the country can be very beneficial, and golf players claim a game of golf is the best remedy nature can offer.

If your pain is too evil and vicious to let you move and it has its poisonous claws firmly embedded in your head, take a really hot bath, or a hot shower. This will have the same effect but without you having to move. You’ll sweat out some of the bad stuff and feel way better.
