Hangover cure for the New Year!
Only the smart ones think of hangover prevention or manage to find a cure or remedy for the state they wake up in after an evening of celebrations. News Year's Eve is a classic night out, where many people, young and old, drink enough to have killer hangovers for some, if not all, of New Year's day. The thing with New Year's Eve is that it's the one night when many people who hardly ever drink alcohol will be out letting themselves go, celebrating with friends and getting way too drunk. It's also a night when people may have a big meal, which means drinking plenty of wine and therefore increase their chances of mixing their drinks and having
congener laden
drinks as well as the regular ones. Brandy, red wine, port and other such head battering beverages are likely to be consumed in large quantities and mixed in with different types of alcohol. Added to this of course are the hardcore party animals who will drink twice as much as they usually do on New Year's Eve. All this of course is the recipe for a nation of hardcore hungover people on New Year's day, which is a wasted day for many people. Of course, it doesn't have to be. Smarter people will tend to pre-empt their hangover in order to
prevent it
and wake up feeling more or less human. Smarter people will be well versed in the best
tips and tricks
and will have popped vitamins before and after drinking and if they remembered, will have stuck to good quality alcohol, would not have mixed their drinks too much and might just have remembered to
eat something
if they were intelligent. To recount you my New Year's Eve story, I took a load of vitamins before going out. A Vitamin B and folic acid complex, some vitamins which were derived from food and half a multivitamin. A bit too many maybe, but they were slow release so it was ok. I also drunk good alcohol, nice wine and champagne made for a quality evening. I got a bit drunk but not to excess. I also had a water drink with half an effervescent vitamin pill dissolved in it before sleeping. You really need to do this too! I woke up after only 6 hours because at 1pm, it's a bit too light to sleep. But I had no headache at all and neither did the person who did the same as me. If it works for us, it should work for you too!
There was one member of our group who I gave vitamins too before going out who actually did end up hungover. However, she drunk far too much and on an empty stomach and as a result, had an awful hangover. She also drunk far too much of a low quality champagne. binge drinking
and I have little sympathy for people who indulge in that regularly, especially on an empty stomach. Follow our
